 Kevin: Hey Tyler, there’s the hot dogs stand I've been talking about

Kevin: near that bridge

Marcus: Boys now is not the time for hot dogs, we gotta do our job.

Kevin: man - why you gotta ruin the joy out of everything

Marcus: because I am your eldest brother and i have to take care of you and the others

Ron: Yea, remember the last time we went out last year? We were in the middle of a world travel Christmas giving presents mission? You guys messed the mission up just for a freaking food that you saw on the window while Santa was putting the presents, someone was awake and saw us, Santa was disappointed and you guys promised to not do it again.

Kevin: but Ron we are hungry we haven’t had food since yesterday

Layla: Now Now don’t be whiny - we’ll eat after we’ve done the mission

Kevin: Layla we’ve been doing this for over 7-8 hrs, i'm staring at so many open restaurants along the way…

Who would you want to trade lives with and why? by Chadwick

 I want to trade lives with a better person because I have made so many ungrateful mistakes as I am right now. Not how long, but how well I have lived is the main thing. The big lesson in life, is never be scared of anyone or anything. When we do the best we can, we never know what miracle is wrought in our life or the life of another. So I chose to trade lives with a better person.

3 Important things to tell your future child - by Chadwick

 The 3 important things to tell your future child as you wished for the same thing when you were younger. Study, Eating Healthy and Having fun.

1. Study - Love what you are learning to do, hard work matters, don't let fear of failure put you off, it's the little things that matter.

2. Eat Healthy - To keep the body in good health is a duty, otherwise we will not be able to keep our mind strong and clean.

3. Having fun - Enjoy life. Have fun. Be kind. Have worth. Have friends. Be honest. Laugh. Die with dignity. Make most of it. It's all we've got. You'll miss the best things if you keep your eyes shut. Having fun is the best way to learn. (3 photos below)

 Would you Rather live in a Tree-house or Cave-house?

I chose Tree house reason being is that living in a cave house is cool and scary but i don't like the dark. I rather live in a tree house because it's better, it's like a secret base for you and your friends to hide out/in or play games. 

At the end of the day, what really matters is that your loved ones are well, you've done your best and that you are thankful for all you have.

 Would you rather choose a Life-sized robot or a Jet-pack?

I chose Life sized robot because when using a jet pack, their fuel will go empty very quickly for example you're high up above the skies but your gas of your jet pack ran out and you would fall and have nothing to land on while robots will harvest, cook and serve our food. They will work in our factories, drive our cars, and walk our dogs. Like it or not, the age of work is coming to an end. At the end of the day, tech workers are not robots: they feel, they think, they have values. So I chose Robots.

Would you Rather Fly or being invisible?

I'd rather fly than being invisible because being invisible is like stalking other people without being seen and that's creepy while flying is just literal flying, you can go to the places you dream't of.

Christiaan’s full name is Christiaan Neethling Barnard, Christiaan was born on November 8, 1922 in Beaufort West, Cape Province, Union of South Africa and died on September 2, 2001 (Age 78) in Paphos, Cyprus. Christiaan was a South African Cardiac Surgeon who performed the world's first human-to-human heart transplant operation. Barnard transplanted the heart of accident-victim Denise Darvall into the chest of 54-year-old Louis Washkansky, with Washkansky regaining full consciousness and being able to talk easily with his wife, before dying eighteen days later of pneumonia. Christiaan’s research had inspired a lot of people during surgery of transplant from a body to another body.

Amelia’s Full name was Amelia Mary Earhart. Amelia was born on July 24, 1897 in Atchison, Kansas, US. Amelia was famous for being the first female aviator in history to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, and also one the first female aviators to promote commercial air travel. Amelia developed a passion for adventure at a young age, steadily gaining flying experience from her twenties. In 1928, Earhart became the first female passenger to cross the Atlantic by airplane (accompanying pilot Wilmer Stultz), for which she achieved celebrity status.

While Amelia was flying somewhere going to Pacific Ocean, en route to Howland Island from Lae, New Guinea, she disappeared on July 2, 1937 and declared dead on January 5, 1939.

I chose Overseas because It's nice to explore more islands and beaches. Just in-case people might even ask where is the nearest beach or recommending the best beach. Relaxing is the only option to rest from being stressed out in doing housework or other stuff.

Would you Rather Wands with magic or Hands that can make magic?

I chose Hands that can make magic because It's easier to use it instead of a wand, you might lost it or might even get it stolen. When using hands with magic, you might use it for practice controlling it, again it's easier.

The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.

I chose to be the Heroic Hero because the only difference between a hero and the villain is that the villain chooses to use that power in a way that is selfish and hurts other people.

All of us start from Zero, we take the right decision and become a hero but... There is no hero without a villain.

I rather go straight into a video game because I wanted to play the game I wanted that I wanted in real life or making the mini-game that i dream't of as an in game developer. What I want to see is people having fun.

 Would you Rather stranded on a deserted island or in a forest?

I chose being stranded in an island because around it has fish for food, water to drink and fire and shelter to make while being in a forest is already scary for me reason being is wild animals and the night during in the forest. In the island you can make S.O.S in the sand or make a boat to float.

 If I was to choose Gills to breathe underwater or Wings to fly.

I chose Wings because I wanted to fly to Japan and some other countries that I really want to visit like the Seven Wonders of the world or stuff that I want to do. If I chose Gills then I would have been Aquaman to go and explore the underwater world , I might even expose the secrets of the Bermuda Triangle or what's the bottom of the deepest trench like Mariana trench but I still choose wings to fly.

 Would you rather Jump on Clouds or Slide down a Rainbow?

I rather jump on clouds because the higher I go, the more beautiful view of the world and space above. If I go sliding down a rainbow, it feels like I'm going to a different dimension like candy land, another reason for it is, when sliding down a rainbow it lessens your view of the world and that’s not beautiful at all. 

P.S: I do not like candy land at all, too sweet.

The Difference of Medals in the Olympics 2021

 Today in the 9th of August, Me and my classmates researched about Number of medals in certain countries in the Olympics. To know the difference of medals in each country we chose to do 4 graphs, we researched about the Number of medals of all the countries that played in the Olympics. My Greek God poster

 After we did the differences of the Ancient and Current Olympics. Each of us has to do a poster of one of the Greek Gods that was presented in a slide, the choices were Zeus, Apollo and Poseidon, for me I chose Poseidon because his power was about commanding the Sea, Earthquakes and Horses. Comparing and Contrasting the Ancient and Current Olympics

This week me and my fellow Room 8 students have been researching about the differences of the Ancient Olympics and the Current Olympics, now we have been doing Venn Diagrams about the Ancient, Current and the Same of both Olympics.

Life Cycle of Maggots

Ever think Maggots are bad, disgusting and infected? Well, us in Room 8 were reading an interesting article about a German teenager named Juliane Koepcke who miraculously survived a plane crash, Juliane struggled to find first-aid, food, water and shelter. Juliane's injuries were so infectious that she couldn't bear the pain. One day, one of her injuries was infested with maggots and all of us in Room 8 got so interested about maggots. We started searching facts and the life cycle of maggots. Do you want to learn more? Check Below:

Diary Entry: The Yellow Umbrella (2)

 Dear Diary,

I told her my past, she changed completely after hearing my story.. She must've felt really bad it's like here personality switched from fiery hot headed to nature's cooling breeze. She gave me her bright yellow umbrella just as a comfort to remember my dad, I cried happily. My eyes came from pure darkness to seeing a taint of light looking like a hand that pulled me out of the shadows. I see my dad being proud of me, so proud that I was able to fight my bad past to move and live a good life. It doesn't matter that you left me, I will always love you forever dad.. Goodbye.

Room 8 Sailing

 On May 10th of 2021 (Monday) we traveled across to Okahu Bay in a comfortable bus to learn sailing. I felt lots of emotions on the journey but mostly nervous and excited.

Here we are listening to our instructor explaining how to get our boat ready for sailing and being safe. Our Instructor told us to attach the sail and other different parts of our boats to make the sail go up. My sailing buddy and I didn't have a problem after we'd done it a second time.

This was our first try.

This was our second try and now the sail can work properly.

Our boat was the Yellow 5, my sailing buddy and I had trouble balancing our boat. Capsized!

This was not our boat!

There was a lot of laughter and screaming. My sailing buddy and I screamed a lot just because we kept crashing into other boats. Classmates got wet but not harmed during our sailing - the water was shallow and we were wearing our life jackets.

Thank you St. Johns Rotary and Yachting New Zealand for sponsoring and inspiring us to have fun learning to sail. I had a wonderful experience sailing for the 1st time in my life.

Diary Entry: The Yellow Umbrella

Diary Entry:

This is a diary entry I have written in response to a short animated movie we are studying for literative.

Dear Diary, 

Before my mom died from cancer, she gave me the only gift I ever wanted, a Yellow Umbrella. It makes me remember my mom till now. I moved to an orphanage by my mom's friend, it has been 3 years since I've been here in this building. Everyday the sky is always gloomy even if it's a bright sunny day, Every time I look outside a window at the Attic, it's like my mom wanted to show me the world where other life awaits in my journey one day. The past I remember is just light and dark forcing me to choose a side.

Clay: Value by Chadwick

 Today we discussed our values. We had to dig deep and think hard about what really counts.

I chose a "Mountain" as something I valued because it means that I am looking at the journey ahead and no mountain can stop me. 

We created our value in clay so we could think about our values more and what it meant to us personally.

Stations of the Cross 2021

 On the first day of April, Thursday of Holy Week, we did our Stations of the Cross. I am proud of myself and my friends for doing really great job in our roles and holding our characters. We tried our hardest to make it understandable for the younger children.

We did the story called "The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ"

Jesus was getting an crucified for doing something wrong when he didn't do anything.

Pontius Pilate put the Crown of Thorns on the head of Jesus Christ.

Jesus has been nailed and died on the cross as a symbol of his Sacrifice.

In the end the younger children put crosses at the stage knowing that we Love Jesus as always.
