Meanwhile, the 19th and the first half of the 20th-century telegrams were commonly utilized to send critical or vital news. Telegrams were important back in WW1 as they permitted people to interact with other people on the battlefield or to send an urgent broadcast to the other troops. Some soldiers sent reports to their families, and soldiers on the front line were able to send data to and collect information from the officers in their headquarters throughout World War One and Two.
